After delays and much wait, the lead roles for the SM Entertainment produced, Korean adaptation of the hit Japanese manga, “Hana Kimi,” has been confirmed. According to Korean reports, SHINee’s Minho and f(x)’s Sulli will be playing the lead roles of Izumi Sano and Mizuki Ashiya respectively.
The manga has already been adapted into a drama format in both Taiwan and Japan, and have been a hit in both countries. “Boys Over Flowers” PD Jeon Gisang is set to direct the Korean “Hana Kimi” (“Beautiful You”).
With SM Entertainment taking helm at the production, casts for the drama will most likely have other SM artists and actors.
According to officials, “Beautiful You” is scheduled to broadcast on SBS in the second half of the year.
Last year, the SM Entertainment-producedm Korean adaptation of “Hana Kimi” was announced and netizens put together a virtual cast, with many voicing out that they would like to see Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon or f(x)’s Sulli in the drama.
Although some people are disappointed, I honestly can’t wait. :)
